Jatin obtained B.A. and M.D. degrees from the Boston University Seven Year Medical Program. He completed clinical training in Internal Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. Jatin completed research training in microbiology with Martin J. Blaser at NYU, a GI research fellowship with Philip N. Tsichlis and Kenneth Hung at Tufts Medical Center, and a postdoctoral fellowship with Ömer H. Yilmaz at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. Jatin joined Duke University as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, and Cancer Biology in 2019. His research lab is focused on understanding the function of intestinal stem cells in the context of inflammatory bowel disease and cancer. Jatin is also a gastroenterologist specializing in gastrointestinal cancer genetics at Duke University Hospital and the Durham VA Medical Center.
